Even cloud services fail and such was the case for some Office 365 users yesterday morning. Around 10:20AM CST, we had one of our client’s reach out asking why they could not send or receive email. Less than 2 minutes later, we began investigating the issue. First, by checking the Microsoft Office 365 status page. However, this page stated that no problems were being reported and that everything was up and running. Next, we looked to downdetector to see if other users were also experiencing issues. Sure enough there were almost 900 reports of issues with this service. We then discovered, via the Office 365 Admin Center, that Exchange Online was experiencing service issues (Error: EX186189).

Note: The health of individual service can be checked by navigating to Health -> Service Health, under your Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

After compiling all this information we communicated everything back to not only the client that initially reported the issue, but all of our other clients that are currently using Office 365. All of which transpired in less than 40 minutes.

At BrookeLane Technologies, we take pride in being responsive and communicating clearly and effectively to our customers. Are you interested in learning more about how we can help your organization? If so, please visit our contact page for more information and to schedule an appointment today.
